LIEAP - Low Income Energy Assistance Program applications being accepted
Applications
may be obtained at local DHHR offices, community action agencies, or
senior centers operated by any Area Agency on Aging. They should be
returned to the offices after being completed. Applications will also
be available on the DHHR website at www.wvinroads.org beginning Jan. 17,
and ending Jan. 27. The application must be printed and mailed to the
DHHR office located in the applicant’s county of residence. All applications, whether mailed or hand-delivered, must be received by DHHR or postmarked by Jan. 27. Applications received after this date will be denied.

Lifeline/Safelink Fact Sheet
The FCC’s Low Income Program of the Universal Service Fund, which is
administered by the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC), is designed
to ensure that quality telecommunications services are available to low-income
customers at just, reasonable, and affordable rates. Lifeline support reduces
eligible low-income consumers' monthly charges for basic telephone service.
INSPIRE was initiated to address the needs of adolescents 11-18 years of age who are at risk of being removed from the home due to substance abuse, legal charges, or CPS involvement. This intensive program is structured in quarterly phases and designed to work systemically with all key persons in the client’s care group (family, community, educational setting, legal system, etc).

The Internal Revenue Service has launched a new Web-based version of its popular Exempt Organizations Workshop covering tax compliance issues confronted by small and mid-sized tax exempt organizations.
The free online workshop - Stay Exempt - Tax Basics for 501(c)(3)s - consists of five interactive modules on tax compliance topics for exempt organizations:
Tax-Exempt Status - How can you keep your 501(c)(3) exempt?
Unrelated Business Income - Does your organization generate taxable income?
Employment Issues - How should you treat your workers for tax purposes?
Form 990 - Would you like to file an error-free return?
