Public Transportation in Boone County is provided by the Tri-River Transit Authority, which serves about 50 per cent of the county. Tri-River operates two 12-passenger, handicap accessible buses.  The cost to ride the bus is only $1. The Boone County Commission, Boone County Community and Economic Development Office, Regional Family Resource Network/WV Community Voices, Boone Memorial Hospital, and private sources provide local funding for the service.
